"Old Line State" or "Free State"... Maryland

We departed Delaware as soon as possible after getting up, simply because there was not going to be anyone to check us in at the Famcamp.

This drive had us going over several bridges, none of which had tolls...YEA.

How did Maryland get the name "Old Line State". It was given to Maryland by George Washington. He did it to honor the Maryland troop line that tirelessly served courageously in many of the Revolutionary battles.

It got the "Free State" nickname because in 1864 it abolished slavery within the state.

I DON'T LIKE BIG CITY TRAFFIC!!!!

Garmin brought us to one of the gates that wasn't really close to the Famcamp, but closer than the main gate. Either way, we got to our site.

One of the reviews said the concrete pads were not big enough to sit a chair on, I think it had to do with where one located the trailer. I am going to show you some fine engineering design, so do not fall out of your chair.

Water and sewer connections at the front of the pad, electric at the back of the pad. Fortunately we appeared to be the only site this way, the others had their utilities at the back of the pad, together. I did have to get the fresh water hose stretcher out to get a bit more length... I'm kidding, but it was close. The positive take-away was getting to extend my sewer slinky its full length.

Our main thrust in Maryland was to hit Navy Federal Credit Union to square away a couple of issues, and the rest of the time was free time... oh, except for the rain.

I did have a project to do after surprises reared their heads when we arrived.

We usually put a piece of thin board in the cabinet to keep items from moving around, this last trip proved that the board was not enough. This was why I mounted a small cargo net to reduce spillage, items will still move a bit.

Our last night in Maryland we drove up north of Baltimore to visit some dear friends we hadn't seen in many years. We knew the weather was going to be a challenge so we left early in anticipation of bad weather, but that wasn't our biggest problem, traffic was. What we thought would take us a couple of hours ended up taking three hours. Driving home was Carol's joy, it only took a little over an hour, there was minimal sprinkles and very little traffic. We arrived home and I continued my preps for next morning departure.

We headed out, all the way to Virginia, a whopping two hour drive, again rain was to be an issue.
